There’s a lot of great momentum across the Novated Leasing, Salary Packaging and Fleet Management space right now.
EV conversations have ramped up, demand is higher, and on paper… it all looks busy.
But here’s what I’m seeing on the ground. Busy doesn’t always mean moving.
We’ve got:
· Roles being approved
· Job ads going live
· Candidates applying (and yes… there are plenty of them)
But then somewhere between first interview and final decision… things slow right down.
Processes stretch out.
Decision-making stalls.
And what should be momentum… turns into hesitation.
I’m seeing candidates go through:
· 3, sometimes 4 interviews
· Long gaps between stages
· Mixed messaging along the way
And naturally when this happens … interest starts to drop.
Not because the opportunity isn’t good, but because the process doesn’t match the pace of the market.
And here’s the reality.
In a space evolving as quickly as ours - especially with EV growth driving new demand — businesses don’t just need good people… they need people in seats and delivering impact quickly.
The longer it takes to make a decision:
· The higher the risk of losing strong candidates
· The more pressure it puts on existing teams
· The harder it becomes to keep momentum in the business
This isn’t about rushing decisions.
It’s about being clear, aligned and ready to move when the right person is in front of you.
Because right now? The market isn’t short on activity. It’s just waiting on action.
If everything feels busy but nothing is progressing …
It might not be the market …
It might be the process
In a busy market, movement doesn’t come from volume… it comes from decisions.
This market isn’t lacking opportunity, candidates, or activity. What it’s really lacking in some cases is pace and clarity. The businesses getting ahead right now aren’t the ones with the most complex hiring processes – it’s the ones that aligned early, are confident in their decisions, and able to keep momentum when they find the right person.
Let’s keep building, moving, and growing through this busy time. There’s real opportunity in the market right now.
